We are launching our new Radio Program “VOICES OF ANAKAZI” on Zambia Blog Talk Radio on August 6th, 2011 at 11.30/8.30am Eastern/Central Time . Our First Guest is the Zambian Ambassador to The United States Ms Sheila Siwela.
Anakazi Center for African Women Development and Empowerment, is a non-profit organization serving African business women globally. Anakazi creates business development and support networks for African women in business. By creating partnerships between business owners, investors and mentors in the United States and Africa our main goal is to develop and empower women and their businesses through trainin, mentoring and networking. We design programs to help build sustainable companies that help to create employment opportunities as well as support development efforts in Africa.

Roundtable discussions in progress as the women shared how they can collectively positively impact Africa by using resources of their different Non-Profit organisations to empower women and girls on the African continent.
The meeting was Co-Chaired by Dr. Buashie Amatokwu from the office of California State Senator Price, and Ms.Yareka Mhango, founder of Anakazi. The theme of ABCD’s May 2011 Breakfast meeting was; WOMEN IN BUSINESS & CULTURE CREATING PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE MOTHERLAND FOR INVESTMENT AND TRADE. The meeting was held at the LAX Los Angeles Airport Marriot Hotel.
Special guests included, Business women who had travelled from South Africa, as well as Ms. Betty LaMarr, Author. Ms. Moza Mjasiri Cooper, Ms. Marie Kellier,Ms. Raquel Battle, Ms. Akuyoe Graham, Ms.Rentse Ugokwe, Ms.Nehanda Sankofo-Ra, Ms. Nkki Legesse, and Mrs. Rita Luchembe.
